You may have heard that I wrote a book! I did it after I was made redundant and it gave me some purpose and structure in my life when both of those had been abruptly stripped away. A brief synopsis of the book and a link to my amazon page are below . . .
Brown's Not For Town is a memoir of my career in banking, from joining as a new entrant straight from school to being made redundant in 2022. It's not particularly serious, nor is it really about banking - more a collection of stories from 42 years of working in many roles, with many people; most of them lovely, a few of them not.
As well as sharing what I was up to, I also reference what was going on throughout -from pop culture to the economy to politics and also about how banking itself changed over the decades, from paternalistic, stuffy organisations to the modern, digital, shiny version. Some changes for the good, some less so.
